District 31 Speakers Bureau

Our Mission:
The mission of District 31 Speakers Bureau is to facilitate connection between the organizations seeking a dynamic speaker for a meeting, seminar, conference or similar events and the toastmasters who are interested to help meet such need.  Our services are available as a public service for the organizations and toastmasters in the Eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  There is no charge to use the bureau’s services and to participate in its programs.

Are you planning an event and in needed of a versatile speaker to help enhance your program?  Whether it is a lecture, keynote address, workshop, business meeting, presentation, or an office party, let us help you find the perfect speaker for your event!  Our members can speak on a wide range of topics including leadership, motivation, team building, time management, presentation skills, life coaching and humor.  The Toastmasters registered with the Speakers Bureau are competent, professional quality speakers. They are willing to speak at your events to help attract new members to Toastmasters, to complete requirements for advancement in Toastmasters and for the sheer joy of speaking in public.

The Speaker’s Bureaus is a public service of District 31 of Toastmasters International.  By Toastmasters International rules, our speakers cannot accept a gratuity for the speaking engagement arranged for them through the District 31 Speakers Bureau.  However, you may reimburse reasonable travel expenses or present with an honorarium payable to Toastmasters International District 31.

How To Request A Speaker:

Please complete a Speaker Request Form and tell as us briefly about your upcoming event and what kind of speaker you are looking for.  One of our members will follow up with you. 

 

Become a Speaker:

Have you ever dreamed of speaking to people and inspiring them to reach their goals? Are you ready to speak before large groups in professional and community settings? Do you have a great motivational speech or keynote address ready to present? If you answered yes to any of these questions, the District 31 Speakers Bureau is the place for you. Our Bureau is actively searching for speakers and trainers to represent our District in a marvelous way. We want to help you reach your goals! As an active Speakers Bureau member, you will participate in meetings, workshops and seminars designed to prepare you to present to groups outside of the Toastmasters organization. Speakers Bureau members may be featured in the District 31 Speakers Bureau Directory or on our web site where visitors can select a speaker for their upcoming event.

How To Sign Up?

Please complete the speaker application and return to the Speakers Bureau. A Speakers Bureau committee member will contact you to discuss your submission and the bureau membership requirements. You may be requested to present a speech in front of panel of experienced Toastmasters/evaluaters, prior to final acceptance of your application.

Basic requirements for becoming a member of the Speakers Bureau are as follows:

  1. Be a Toastmaster in good standing
  2. Have obtained the Competent Communicator Award (CC).

Your Obligations as a Speakers Bureau Member:

  1. Agree to be contacted directly by organizations seeking speakers
  2. Provide bio and contact information for the Speakers Bureau Web site
  3. Respond in a timely manner when contacted by organizations
  4. Report back to the bureau after each speaking engagement
  5. Provide the organization with an evaluation form to be sent back to the bureau

 

Participate In District 31 Seek-a-Speaker Program:

Are you looking for a new club to practice your speech? Would you like an opportunity to enhance your confidence to speak in front of a new audience and also get feedback from Toastmasters that you might not normally meet? Or,

Is your club interested to invite Toastmasters from other clubs as guest to speak at your club meetings?

If you answered yes to either of the above question we are here to help you!

District 31 Seek-a- Speaker is a speaker exchange program between Toastmasters Clubs within the district.  This program strives to support the Toastmasters who are interested to practice their speech in front of a new audience and get feed back from the Toastmasters outside their home club; and the clubs interested to host a guest Toastmaster.

Toastmasters or hosting clubs do not pay any fee to participate in this exchange program.  It is brought to you by the courtesy of District 31.  We look forward to hearing from you.

Requirements to participating in this program are as follows:

  2. Provide bio and contact information for the Speakers Bureau Web site
  3. Respond in a timely manner when contacted by a potential host club
  4. Report back to the bureau after each speaking engagement
  5. Provide the host club with an evaluation form to be sent back to the bureau
