are three (3) types
of proxies: one for
the
District,
one for
Regional
and for
International.
The following is an
explanation of
each: |

District Proxy |
| |
|
The President and Vice President Education are
the voting delegates
from your club.
District business
will be conducted
during the Business
Meeting at both the
Spring and Fall
Conferences each
year. Either the
Club President or
the VP Education may
designate in
writing, any active
member of the Club
to act as a proxy or
proxies of the club
at this meeting. No
other proxies shall
be valid at this
meeting. Each member
of the District
Council, or proxy as
authorized above, in
attendance is
entitled to one
vote. Any active
member who carries
the proxies of both
the President and
the VP Education
from a club is
entitled to two
votes; and any such
Toastmaster who is
entitled to a vote
as a District
Officer is entitled
to three votes (if
carrying the club's
proxies). All other
Toastmasters shall
be limited to a
maximum of two
votes. |

How Many Votes Can
One Person Carry?
Each member of the
District Council is
entitled to ONE vote
(as a council
member). The maximum
number of votes any
member can carry,
with valid proxies
is three (3) -- two
(2) Club votes and
one (1) vote as an
elected or appointed
District Officer. A
person who is a
member of more than
one Club is still
limited to two (2)
Club votes. No
Toastmaster under
any circumstances is
permitted more than
two (2) Club votes
and one (1) District
Officer vote for a
total of three (3)
votes. |

Can Proxies be Used?
Yes. The Club
President and/or
Vice President
Education may
designate, in
writing, using
the form on this
website, any member
in good standing of
his/her Club, in
good standing, to
act as proxy at a
District Council
meeting. District
Officers may NOT
designate proxies
and must be present
to vote. |

What is a Club or
Member in Good
Standing? A
Club in Good
Standing is a
Club that has met
the financial and
administrative
obligation (dues,
report form and
membership list at
TI) required by
Toastmasters
International as set
forth in the
constitution and
bylaws. A Member
in Good Standing
is an individual who
has met all
financial and
administrative
obligations required
by the Club and
Toastmasters
International (i.e.,
dues paid, name on
the membership list
at World
Headquarters, etc.) |
